Club History

Welcome to Bewicke Badminton Club's website, it can be used by existing members or anyone who is interested in what the club can offer.

Bewicke Badminton Club was set up 1951 playing in Bewicke Road initially playing in the old Wallsend League. A few years after founding, the club moved on to The Wallsend Memorial Halls and it is presently playing in the east end of Newcastle at the Gibson Street Baths. 

The club plays on two nights, Wednesday and Friday. The Wednesday night is primarily used for the club and Fridays for matches but on occasions are swapped with notice. Bewicke BC are full members of the Northumberland Badminton Association.  We have 5 teams in the leagues, two in the mens, another in the ladies and two mixed teams.

Players of all abilities are welcome to come and try it out, just turn up on one of the club nights or contact us.  You don't have to be a member of the club, visitors can come along and play on a night by night basis to try it out.
